Sonata Festival
The Sonata/Sonatina Festival is a musical experience involving young musicians of all ages and levels of proficiency. Students perform before a panel of qualified clinicians a selected piece in their field of expertise reflecting their training and ambitions as a musician. Adjudicated auditions and awards/scholarships are offered in the categories shown below. The Festival has expanded and now includes three different concert events.
Honors Orchestra
Honor’s Orchestra Spectacular is made up of student musicians who attend by invitation only, based on recommendations of musical directors, conductors and teachers throughout the region. They will participate in a weekend of rehearsals with our renowned guest artist and nationally recognized guest conductor, along with professional musicians in most of the instrumental sections. Those musicians will chair sections rehearsals and also play with the students in concert. It is a unique and novel format, and an exciting experience we hope to provide for the most talented area musicians each year.
Music Camp Classic
Music camp classic is a one day event offering young musicians an opportunity for specialized evaluation. These masters classes match students and masters for a personal appraisal of their abilities and suggestions for improvement. Musicians in piano, strings, and voice can take part in the music camp classic.
